Garden Prof wins Top Garden-Writing Prize

AA New

Great news for Garden Professor Linda Chalker-Scott, and gardeners everywhere.  Her myth-busting book The Informed Gardener took the big prize at tonight's GWA awards ceremony – for best book-writing!  More good news – her Part II is coming soon.  Nice show of support for good writing AND good science.

  1. Linda, we’ll talk. I know a we can figure out how to get you to DC for a clump of area events.

  2. Thanks for all the nice comments! I’d love to come out that way some time to do a talk. Susan and Kathy, any creative ideas on how to make this work?

Thanks for the book suggestions. I’ll look it up.

  4. It was a pleasure meeting Linda Chalker-Scott at the GWA awards banquet last Saturday. The win was well-deserved.

  5. I’ve read Linda’s second book and it’s as compelling as the first one. Well worth the price.

May all those old gardeners’ tales (many of which I’ve spread myself) rest in peace.

Gardening is more of an art than science. It’s a lot funner, too.
I trust that plant growers aren’t ripping me off by selling balled and burlapped trees.
What a rip off to wash away all the soil.

Hooray! I have good taste. . . snapped a pic of this book lying in the exhibit hall on the awards table so I’d remember to buy it.
