Jake Gyllenhaal’s Urban Gardening Lesson

More proof that gardening is now hip, folks!  My favorite part is Jake declaring "Some of my best friends are farmers and it's something that's given my life more meaning than almost anything else that I do [gardening]."  He may actually be one of us. Via Huffington Post.

If I’m not mistaken, Jake’s cohort works with Nancy Goslee Power’s firm. They’re doing some amazing things with school gardens in Southern California. Good for Jake. He and Maggie seem like realgardeners for sure.

  2. Sigh … my fondest hope, that Jake is “one of us”. 🙂

Oh, lord. Jake Gyllenhaal turning a compost pile. These are the moments we here at GardenRant live for.

You know what I would do if I was the editor of a garden magazine? Put a shovel in Jake’s hand and put him on the cover of the next issue. Who’s with me?

  4. Barbara says:

    WHO is this Jake?
Not impressed – comments nor for a cover.

The man SPEAKING (and intelligently) is the HOT ONE!

“Some of my best friends are ________.”

    amy… yes!!!!!!

I’m sending him an invitation to turn the compost pile at our community garden!

  6. He can come to Delaware and help me with my garden any day of the week. Sigh.

    Karen in DE

  7. ChristyACB says:

Oh jeez…he can come take his shirt off and work my tomatoes any day.

    Hubba hubba

  8. LauraBee says:

Hot ? Yes. Do I want him working in my garden ? Yes.

But somebody should’ve handed him a garden fork ( not a shovel ) to turn that compost, then he would’ve been a tad more believable…
