In case you missed it: something cool involving both Martha Stewart and the Fine Living Network. A new show in which her daughter Alexis and Sirius radio show partner Jennifer Koppelman Hutt make fun of old Martha episodes, ala Mystery Science Theater.
Could be brilliant. Although here’s what’s odd: one of the reasons Martha’s willing to go along with this public skewering by her daughter and the daughter of the chair of MSL Omnimedia is that she hopes the irreverent approach will "woo a new generation of younger fans: people interested in household advice but who might find her meticulousness comical." Some of you will remember her failed magazine Blueprint, an attempt to appeal to those crazy kids who want DIY projects they can complete in the amount of time it takes to watch a YouTube video.
So stay tuned. Maybe the folks at Fine Living will go a little viral on us and share a little YouTube love with us bloggers. Tried to find a clip, any clip, of Alexis or Jennifer talking about anything vaguely related to plants or gardening, and came up with zilch. But if you’re just dying to meet them, well–here they are.Posted by Amy Stewart on August 14, 2008 at 5:06 am, in the category GardenRant Airwaves.
