Scotts Water Smart? How dumb do they think we are?

Their Take the Pledge:

Feeding,
especially during spring and fall, will strengthen your lawn and save
water. Trying to revive undernourished turf with only water is a waste.Img_water_smart_logo

And look, they even offer a "blogging badge" for those of us who’ve taken the "pledge."

Looking for the "formula" for their Water Smart Fertilizer, I just found this:

Here are four easy tips you can follow to build a Water Smart Lawn:

  • Feed Regularly. Regular feedings of Scotts Turf Builder Water Smart Formula will
help build a lawn you and your family can enjoy. It provides the nutrients your lawn needs to
crowd out weeds and withstand the stresses of heat, drought and family activity.
  • Set your lawn mower to the highest setting. Mowing high (3" or highest mower
setting) allows the grass to develop a deep root system and helps your lawn use water
    better.
  • Leave the grass clippings on your lawn. This recycles the plant nutrients back into
    the soil.
  • Rely on Rain. Your lawn will begin to wilt when water is needed. As much as
possible, take advantage of nature’s sprinkler and rely on the rain to water your lawn.

I must be weird because I actually compared the label of Scotts Turf
Builder 29-2-3 and Scotts Water Smart 29-3-4. Scotts Water Smart has a
WHOLE 1% more of Potassium which is responsible for Root Extension and
better water utilization.
