Gardenbloggers debut in surveys

You know how we see the same old surveys of garden center customers year after year?  Well, THIS year at least one pollster asked them if they read blogs, and here’s the answer:

Blogs have a strong following among gardeners, with 23% reporting they
read blogs of all types. Among those who read blogs, 27% said they read
garden-related blogs either frequently (5%) or occasionally (22%).

Here’s the story on Open Register.

And some even better news – a survey of garden centers showed a nice slowdown in the sales of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides:

Organic fertilizers and pest and disease controls were also popular
products, while traditional synthetic versions were among the weakest,
based on those products with the highest number of decreased orders.
