Bloom Day: Am I Saxon-Worthy?

BloomdayOK, so it’s a crappy photo, taken in glaring noon sunlight, but that’s the best I could muster at the moment.  My front yard in bloom.  Friend of Rant Saxon Holt is coming to Humboldt to take photos next week–what will he make of this place?

Well, I like it – (almost) any photo of someone’s garden is interesting to me. The someone being the key point, you know, a real person’s garden.

That said, what’s the purple plant blooming to the left of the poppies?

He’s doing a spread on your garden? Oooh, I hope so.

  3. Carolyn says:

Hi Jenn. The purple thing by the poppies looks like it might be Jupiter’s Beard. I luuurve this kind of garden. Saxon Holt photography – oh, baby, baby. These will be some sexy garden photos.

  4. Amy Stewart says:

yes, jupiter’s beard. The more interesting plant–I will post a better picture–is in the back, behind the white irises. A purple angelica. The sort of show-stopper I never think to plant, but somehow I did it anyway.

  5. Michele Owens says:

Gorgeous. But we’re catching up to you here in Zone 5–my irises are about to go, too.

  6. Pam/Digging says:

Yes, do tell. How do you come to have Saxon Holt photograph your garden?

  7. Jenn says:

Excellent — thanks for the info on jupiter’s beard – we’ll see if that can work in zone 8b –

I would love to hear what happens behind the scenes at the photo shoot — so please let us know.

  8. Susan–lord no, he’s not doing a spread on my garden–just coming this way and stopping by–
