Amy Goldman Rocks

GoldmanAmy Goldman, author of The Compleat Sqaush and Melons for the Passionate Grower, creates cast bronze sculptures of garden forms using a lost wax process. The results are amazing.  Life size, warts-and-all gourds.  Even tomatoes, with a leaf attached, if you can imagine it. (Check out Radiator Charlie here.)

These sculptures are not cheap–they’ll run you a few thousand bucks, but lordy, they are beautiful, and imagine how good they’d feel to hold in your hands.

You can see them in person at the New York Botanical Garden’s gift shop (her photos are also on exhibit right now), and I am totally gonna check that out when I’m there in April.

  1. Are you going to be speaking at an event in April at NYBG? I’m a hort student there, and would love to jump in on it…
